Details

Westgyp supplies both structural and non-structural plywood sheets, so whether you’re building, cladding, or creating a clean finish for interiors, we’ve got the right sheet for the job.

Plywood is the all-rounder of the timber world – strong, versatile and built to handle a wide range of projects. Made by layering thin sheets of wood veneer with the grain running in alternate directions, plywood gives you stability and strength without the bulk.

Selex Plywood

Made from Radiata Pine, Selex delivers:

  • High strength, rigidity and visual quality
  • Structurally certified to AS/NZS 2269, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
  • Excellent sanding uniformity, thanks to advanced finishing technology
  • FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certified
  • Available in thicknesses from 7 mm to 25 mm
  • Low-emission phenol resins (E0 / CARB-compliant)
  • Engineered for dimensional stability and strength along both grain directions

Ideal for structural uses, decorative wall and ceiling linings, flooring, furniture, packaging and transport applications.

Usage Tips

  • Leave 3–4 mm gaps between panels to allow for wood movement
  • Store on flat, dry surfaces using battens

Marine Plywood (BS 1088)

Tough marine plywood for high-moisture settings:

  • Made to BS 1088 standard; exterior-grade WBP glues ensure durability under wet conditions
  • Dense hardwood veneers with strict quality control and minimal defects
  • Available in a wide range: 4 mm–25 mm thick, standard sheet size 2440 × 1220 mm
  • Not fully waterproof—requires protective coatings for long-term outdoor use

Best for boats, outdoor structures, wet-area joinery, flooring and shopfitting in humid zones.
